If you are looking for someone who is supportive, direct, and can appreciate that your sarcastic humor might be your "outside" as you are simultaneously crying on the "inside," then I might be a great fit for you. I offer a warm environment that is more than just listening and nodding - my style is collaborative, goal-oriented, and fosters curiosity around the things that folks are wanting to shift or deepen their understanding of in their lives. I work with individuals, couples and polycules to help them find the change in their lives that they want. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy primarily in my work, but also adapt based on client needs. I work a lot with folks who are looking at their relationships, their substance use and/or eating behaviors, have experienced trauma, or are deepening their understanding of their identities. My office also has a lot of plants and rocks, so if nature helps calm you, know that it is centered in my practice. My cat and dogs sometimes are in my office with me, so there may be occasional guest stars in session. If you are curious and think we may be a good fit, reach out.
Clinical Approach
I use an integrative approach which often includes a Psychodynamic approach with a Feminist lens utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and motivational interviewing techniques.
Areas of Clinical Work
LGBTQIA+, relationships, kink, poly, gender identity, addiction/substance use, eating disorders, anxiety, PTSD/CPTSD, grief, and life stage changes.
Modalities
I use talk therapy to explore how the past influences the present, introduce CBT tools to support behavior changes, emphasize mindfulness from ACT, and use EFT and Gottman techniques in my work with couples and polycules.
I work with individuals, couples, and groups
